Hey all, I was trying to send a file via yousendit, and I'm having a challenge. How do I select a folder? I want to send the entire cd, not just a track. I thought I had figured it out by copying the long file name c:documents and all, but it said 0 bytes. Thank you.

Hi.
If you want to send an intire folder with yousendit you will have to compress it first to a zyp file or ra file or any other files of its kind. But if you have got windows xp it's very easy to make a zyp file. Just right click on the folder you want go to send to and choose compressed zyp folder and you can send the zyp file.
I hope it helps
Nikos

Ok, I'll try that. Never zipped something before. I attempted it just with yousendit, and it stalled. Hmmm...

Sorry if this is a little off topic, but I've never heard of YouSendIt. What is it and what does it do, and how much does it cost?

Firstly bob, i think that yousendit is some kinda file host like rapidfile or meggerupload.
To answer the original question:
On the whole, you should be able to make a zip file like nikos said, but below are some exceptions:
If you are trying to send an audio cd, you will not be able to just ctrl a and then make a zip like that direct from the cd, you will have to rip the cd using something like windowsmedia player and then copy it from your my music folder. Note that ripping is different from copying and pasting so you'll have to rip your music. Thinking about it, if its not an audio cd you'll have to copy and paste the contents of the cd onto your harddrive first and then make a zip file from the copy on your harddrive; this is because windows xp will make the zip file in the folder that you are in atm, ie the "d" drive, this could be a problem as it will try to write to the cd which might not be writeable.
Also bair in mind that sites like yousendit have file size limits, i have never used yousendit so i dunno about that, but out've the ones that i have used, they seem to average about 250 mb.
An audio cd or any cd can be up to about 700 mb, so you will need to send it in parts if yousendit says it is to big, to do this you will need a program like winrar.
hth BEN.

Hello.
Yousendit it's free unless you want some extra features. But you can basically send large files to anyone. You just enter their email address, you upload the file and you send it to them. The other person will get an email telling them that somebody send them a file and they will have to click to a link to get it. I think it's a good survice.
The address is http://www.yousendit.com/

The last time i looked you could send files up to 1 GB for free but they seamed to change it now. You can send files up to 100 MB only unless you pay and you can send files up to 2 GB apparently.
